How to: Bring your Serato / Rekordbox beatgrids
If you already gridded and cued your tracks in Serato or Rekordbox, you don't have to redo that work in Mixx Intelligence — import the downbeats and cues you already ear-confirmed. It's a deliberate, one-click action: Mixx Intelligence shows you how many grids it found, you approve, and your hand-set grids are never overwritten.
What Mixx Intelligence can bring in

Only files that actually carry a grid come in — Serato and Rekordbox only write one for tracks you gridded yourself, so this covers the tracks you've worked, not necessarily your whole library.
Import Serato beatgrids
- Open the Library view → click ⭳ Serato tags (in the sidebar, near rekordbox XML).
- Mixx Intelligence scans first and shows the count — e.g. "5 embedded Serato grids found." Nothing has
changed yet; this is a preview.
- Review, then apply. For each imported track Mixx Intelligence:
- sets the first downbeat (the "1") and BPM from the Serato grid,
- regenerates its beat / downbeat arrays so that "1" is actually used through the transition seams,
- marks the grid as yours, so later re-analysis won't overwrite it.
- It never touches a grid you set by hand in Mixx Intelligence.
Note: Mixx Intelligence anchors on the grid's first downbeat. Serato variable (multi-marker) grids come in on
that first anchor.
Import Rekordbox beatgrids
- In Rekordbox: File → Export Collection in xml format → save
collection.xml. - In Mixx Intelligence: Library → rekordbox XML → pick that file.
- Same deal — downbeat, BPM and cues import; any grid you set by hand stays protected.
Why this matters
The downbeats you already confirmed by ear in your old software become Mixx Intelligence's grid — so your first mixes start from grids you trust, not from scratch.
The grid Mixx Intelligence builds on its own
For tracks without an imported grid, Mixx Intelligence detects the beat and the downbeat with a neural beatgrid, then locks each beat onto the actual kick drum and smooths the grid to the track's tempo — adaptive, not a rigid fixed-BPM grid. If you ever disagree with the "1", set it by hand (see 09 — Fix a track that sounds off); once you do, it's protected from every automatic rewrite — re-analysis, imports, all of it.
