How to: Tempo lane (Auto / Manual / Fixed)

The tempo lane runs along the bottom of the timeline (labeled MASTER TEMPO). It controls how the master tempo behaves across the whole mix. The BPM range is shown on the right edge (high on top, low on bottom).

Three modes (buttons in the lane):

Fixed (default)

One steady BPM for the entire set — every track plays at the master tempo. Pitch is preserved. This is the cleanest, most club-standard behavior.

Auto

The tempo eases between each track's natural tempo across the blends — e.g. it sits at 126 during one track, ramps to 128 across the transition, then holds 128. Both overlapping tracks share the curve, so they stay beat-matched while the master glides. Great for keeping tracks close to their native feel.

Manual

Draw the tempo yourself. Click in the lane to add a point, drag points up/down (BPM) and left/right (time) to bend the tempo however you want. (Adding or dragging any point automatically switches you into Manual.) Each point shows its BPM value; near the top the value drops below the point so it stays readable.

Notes

• All three modes work live — no re-render needed. Switch freely while playing.
• Auto/Manual bend the tempo via playback speed, which nudges pitch slightly; the deviations are small

because adjacent tracks are close. For a big, pitch-preserved tempo change, set the Master tempo BPM instead (see guide 08) — that re-stretches every track.
